FanDuel Reduces Workforce by Several Hundred Employees

Workforce Reduction and Executive Changes

FanDuel, the US online sportsbook operated by Flutter Entertainment, is cutting several hundred positions across its divisions. The workforce reduction was communicated to staff internally on June 5, 2026.

The company currently employs approximately 5,000 people. This reduction follows the departure of CEO Amy Howe approximately one month earlier, with Howe receiving $4.37 million in severance pay. This marks the third round of staff cuts within the past twelve months.

Flutter Entertainment shares have declined 51.2 percent year-to-date.

Internal Communications and Market Operations

Karol Corcoran, managing director of sportsbook, confirmed the departures in an internal company message. Corcoran noted that the organization remains confident in its strategic direction, adding that the team is "very confident in the future of our Sportsbook business." Ari Avishay, senior vice president of marketing, also addressed the remaining workforce regarding ongoing operations.

FanDuel is simultaneously expanding its presence in prediction markets, leveraging existing trading infrastructure for market-making activities. Other sportsbook operators are implementing similar workforce reductions. The company has not issued a public statement regarding the specific causes of the current headcount adjustments.
