WorldGaming has announced the addition of a dedicated Digital and FinTech Transformation Hall for ICE Barcelona 2027. The event is scheduled to take place from January 18 to 20 at Fira Gran Via in Spain.
Focus on Technology and Infrastructure
The new venue, designated as Hall 7, will focus on technologies reshaping the gaming sector. Exhibitors will showcase solutions related to artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and payment systems. The space aims to highlight tools essential for operational performance and long-term business growth.
A specialized conference program will run on the show floor to facilitate discussions among technology executives. The organizers intend to attract exhibitors from the broader technology ecosystem alongside traditional gaming suppliers. This approach reflects the increasing convergence between enterprise tech and the gaming industry.
Margaret Dunn, Portfolio Director for ICE Barcelona, stated that gaming businesses are undergoing changes similar to other digital sectors. "Gaming businesses are being transformed by the same forces reshaping every major digital industry: cloud, data, AI, payments innovation, cybersecurity and real-time customer intelligence," Dunn said.
She emphasized that these functions are now central to resilience and compliance.
Advisory Board Composition
To guide the initiative, WorldGaming established an advisory board comprising senior leaders from gaming, AI, and fintech sectors. The group includes Chris Conroy of Future Anthem, Cris Kuehl of Continent 8 Technologies, and Cristina Turbatu, former CTO of Casumo. Other members are Elena Rousseva of Playtech Services, Iulia Bolea of Microsoft, Konstantinos Papakonstantinou of Kaizen Gaming, and Manuel Pardavila of Microsoft.
The board also features Satty Bhens of Entain, Sergey Kastukevich of SOFTSWISS, and Yiannis Stavroulakis of Novibet.
