Norway has implemented revised licensing requirements for digital gambling operators, effective from January 15. The new framework establishes updated compliance standards for all licensed providers in the country.
The Norwegian Gaming Authority published the regulatory changes to standardize oversight across online and land-based platforms. Operators must now submit monthly activity reports and maintain dedicated player support channels. The legislation also introduces revised fee structures for license renewals and seasonal promotions.
Compliance Deadlines and Market Adjustments
Licensing reviews under the updated criteria began on February 1. Companies holding active permits must complete all documentation submissions by May 31. Regulatory officials have confirmed that the extended timeline accounts for system integration and staff onboarding requirements.
Earlier this year, Norwegian authorities launched a sector-wide audit to evaluate current licensing procedures. The present measures represent the initial phase of that review process.
